I’ve been asked by my team at work to do some portraits. I don’t like portraits, I prefer candid shots, and the logistics including figuring out the set-up and timetable have been my personal nightmare for the past 2 weeks. But at times we had fun.

Rievkooche is Rhenish dialect for potato pancakes. In our family it is a meal where everyone comes together, we all meet up at my parents’ place. They are not hard to make, but a lot of work and with the smells involved you better make a lot, so it’s worth it. Even my Italian sister in law loves them. I have never baked them just for my husband and me – it somehow seems wrong. Traditionally served with applesauce they are delicious!
