Oh, wie schön ist Panama
The title of this post is actually the title of a children’s book by a German author named Janosch. It translates as “Oh, how nice is Panama”. The story is about Tiger and Bär, who live in a cottage near a river. One day Bär fishes a wooden box with the inscription “Panama” out of the river, it smells of bananas. Tiger decides that Panama must be his land of dreams and both of them start on a journey to find it. Most animals they encounter don’t know where Panama is and give false directions. In the end Tiger and Bär arrive at their own home again, but due to the long time they were absent the surroundings have changed and they don’t recognise it. Thinking they finally arrived in Panama, they repair the cottage and live happily ever after. So why this text? Because.
