Eyeing the Buffet

Eyeing the Buffet

A couple of days ago I had a great spotted woodpecker with a taste for peanuts at the window (and no camera nearby). The green woodpecker is in the yard more often at the moment, but hasn’t yet landed at the feeder. The robin nowadays comes regularly for the mealworms I started feeding. I haven’t seen the kestrel again. I’m very much in two minds about that. Of course I don’t want the tits to come to harm while they’re feeding, but the kestrels shouldn’t starve. And seeing one that close was admittedly awesome.
On another note the yellowhammers are back. I saw a flock of them in the trees by the silos.

I’m jealous 😉 I’ve never seen a green woodpecker! They do live here but they’re hiding..
