Archeology in Action

Sometimes during our tour it seemed to us that our guide knew every Dick, Tom and Harry or rather every Einar, Bjarni and Guðmundur (Hinz und Kunz, wie man bei uns sagt…). Which proved lucky when it came to this unplanned side trip.

She knew a guy who knew a guy and we were allowed to visit a dig site. It was really interesting to watch them at work. It was even more interesting to watch what happens when they actually find something.

Btw, it was a very small piece of metal, assumed to be part of a tool.
